Acknowledgements

One of the things I learned from writing this novel is that every book is a bit of a collaborative effort. To my family and friends all over the world, thank you for:
support,
encouragement,
reading drafts,
feedback,
listening to me gripe,
listening to me gloat,
letting me cry,
kicking my ass,
masala puri,
glasses of wine,
laughter,
more support and
encouragement.

And thank you for your stories -- some of you might even recognize anecdotes of your own that I've shamefully  poached and used in my novel.

There are a lot of people I should be thanking here.... but a wise person I know has often said that the danger in naming people in  "Thank Yous" is that you might forget a few names.  I really don't want to do that!

This novel is dedicated my my mother, Pat.

And unlike the character in my novel, she didn't encourage me to follow in her footsteps - though I did anyway in becoming a teacher! - but she has always encouraged me to write.  Thank you, Mom!
